I think we may be looking at the first real dance track of 2009. We’ve had some pretty chilled out vibes going until now, but now that Donovan has dropped his latest track and EP Breakin’ I’m finally able to dance to some fresh tunes. Breakin’ combines the funkiest octave-bass I’ve heard in a while with some nice rhymes thrown in there two. There’s even a bass’ish breakdown for the bass-lover in me.
It’s not spectacular, it’s probably not the most innovating track you’ll hear all year. It’s great fun though, and right now that does the job pretty well for me! David Saïd and Nicolas Nekmouche deserve some creds though for making a 1st EP that is this good, I’m sure they’ll make me dance some more in the coming year.
