This post and the embedded mix is the closest I’ll get to having a proper recap of 2008, because pretty much every song that Russ Chimes has thrown in this mix was one of my highlights from last year. It’s not often I see a tracklist where every single tack look stunning, but that is the case here. And on top of that, Russ Chimes is at the top of his game with this mix! If you’ve been reading Going Other Places for some time, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of everything he touches and this seems to sum it all up perfectly.
My highlight? I don’t know, it’s too hard to choose. A-Trak’s Say Whoa thrown in at the very beginning of the mix? Cosmos’s Take Me With You that Aston Shuffle made irresistible? Lifelike’s epic remix of Cross the Dancefloor? Or the yet to be released (but HIGHLY anticipated) remix of The Golden Filter’s Solid Gold? Choose your own answer.
