The Golden Filter‘s slow burning disco has already become one of the most buzzing topics of the music blogosphere with their very limited nu-disco catalog making heavyhearted dancers faint all over the world. I guess they aren’t the likeliest band to suddenly take the leap onto a status as remixers… After all we don’t even know who they are other than that they are somewhat secretive.
Yet a couple of remixes have escaped the golden shores, the latest being a remix of the Swedish young folks Peter Bjorn and John‘s Lay it Down. The disco sound is as sticky and infectious as ever with a beat that’s barely able to stand on it’s own legs pushing the track forward along with a variation over what seems to be The Golden Filter’s only string riff. Catchy as hell and something I could easily see myself dancing to on some distant rooftop while the sun rises.
