Sweet new La Roux remixes

La Roux

I never really saw the potential regarding La Roux, although I feel terribly guilty for saying so. She has quickly become a legit name in the blogosphere with here cuter-than-cute electro with the obvious comparison to the equally lovely Little Boots. Somehow I still find Little Boots a little more sharp and uncompromising, which is a plus for me.

La Roux has her moments though, no doubt about that. The latest shipment of proof arrived within the last couple of days with Skream and The Twelves‘ remixes for her upcoming In For The Kill single. Skream’s remix is dark and gloomy, placing La Roux’s innocent vocals on top of a deep and mysterious low end. We’re kept in suspense until the last minute were things really take off.

Compared to Skream’s take, the Twelves’ remix seems so light hearted it’s almost unfair. In my ears this sounds exactly like a LCD Soundsystem remix would sound with a jumpy bassline, cowbell and arpeggio’s for every cent. It’s not a bad remix, but once you’ve heard the Skream remix this one simply seems too light.

I agree, can’t quite see the appeal of La Roux – think there are people doing it better. Sorry! :(

True, but the Skream remix is massive! Played it out on a huge speaker yesterday, pure eargasm

I personally love la roux, but her music doesnt appeal to everyone.
I think she is amazing, a role model and fashion rebel!
