Remixes and remixers: Metronomy

Metronomy

When I have to describe Metronomy’s sound new, I always fall short. Are they math? Are they indie? Are they pop? Are they rock? Or are they electro? The last option may sound a bit ridiculous, but if you look at the list of people who have been remixing Metronomy’s tracks (most notably Heartbreaker and A Thing For Me), there are some pretty impressive names on there.

Actually the list of remixers has to be one of the most varied ones I’ve ever seen. I dare you to find a band for me that has been remixed by Mad Decent, Sinden and Jupiter! But Metronomy can pull it off, even though I have no idea how. Below are three of my favorite remixes ranging from some naive electropop sounds to a rougher version of A Thing For Me by Sinden.

Metronomy – Heartbreaker (Jupiter Remix)

Metronomy – Heartbreaker (Kris Menace Remix)

Metronomy – A Thing For Me (Sinden Remix)

The Twelves also did a remix of Heartbreaker in their 38 min mix called Episode II. If you haven’t heard it, find it on bigstereo… supreme stuff.
