Thing One make some addictive dancerock

Thing One

The dancerock genre still bites. You heard it first on here, or… Well, the latest band to prove that there’s still a lot of juice to squeeze from the funky indie/rock/dance fruits is Thing One. The New Jersey based band were selected as a CMJ spotlight artist, but if that doesn’t convince you about the quality of this band, you have to give their tracks a spin.

It’s safe to say that dancerock has passed it’s peak in the hype cycle. Usually that means two things: first, the amount of so-so opportunists is greatly decreased. Second, you get a chance to discover some great bands who’ve survived the initial hype by making music that stands out from the rest. Thing One definitely belongs to the latter category, and here’s their track Move It to convince you.
