Mansion

Following my Twitter inspired post yesterday, I’ll continue today with more tracks and more thoughts thrown in below. I encourage you to share your opinion in the comments, or, if you’re really feeling it, do a similar rundown in the comments with the tracks posted below. That would be fun, right? Again, this is just my very first spin of the tracks with my completely uncensored opinion.

Andrew Friendly feat Fast Eddie – It’s The Weekend (Future Flash vs Dirty Disco Youth rmx) VOCAL EDIT (alt)

This is the latest slice of promo from Andrew Friendly’s GULP label with a previously unreleased track getting brushed up for a fresh release. Fast Eddie throws down some rhymes too

  • Move your body/rock this party lyrics, simple yet effective. Builds really well with Fast Eddie’s rap
  • Really original drop, nowhere near what I expected
  • This one has some great peaks, it’s worth grabbing just for that
  • The single drops on April 20th with a bunch of other edits. Grab-worthy methinks.

Thunderheist – Sweet 16 (Mansion Remix) (alt)

Next up is Mansion’s latest remix, and this time it’s Thunderheist’s Sweet 16. I’m curious to find out whether or not Mansion are sticking with “stadium” sound on this one

  • First seconds are just like the Bounce remix only with different lyrics
  • Definitely less hardcore than Bounce though, less stadium and more bouncy too.
  • The way this one seems to be exploding all the time is just great!
  • Beautifully executed! No epic drop, but this could easily become very addictive
  • Random fact: this one has the most perfect transition to Mansion’s remix of Lioness’ My Heart. Wonder if it was intentional.

Loving this remix. Not heard of anything from Friendly in ages! quite a departure from breaks. will def check out the original.
