I’ve been promising to try something new for a while, and now I’m finally going to do something about it. I’ve picked 4 of the most interesting tracks around (at least in my humble opinion), plugged in my headphones and written down my thoughts while the tracks were playing. This may be the way things will be on here in the future, or this may just be twitter ruining my spirit. Leave your judgment in the comments, I would love to hear your opinion on this.
WhoMadeWho – The Plot (Discodeine Remix) (alt)
- Why are Who Made Who’s vocals always just perfect?
- Strings on top of dancerock = best thing ever. Seriously, use strings!
- Cool move to include the piano as a break
- It’s a nice groove and all, but I wish this would kick off for real. Like bleeding ears & dance mayhem real.
We Plants Are Happy Plants – Bluebird (alt)
- Grabbed this one because of a glowing recommendation on Hot Biscuits, sounds like a promising electropop cut so far
- I would be awfully intimidated if I were ever to use vocoders. Sounds like they’re pretty confident about it.
- Ooh, smooth drop & synths
- This just gets better and better as more layers are added!
White Lies – Farewell To The Fairground (Rory Phillips White Horse Mix) (alt)
- I never really understood the need to add extra description in your remix title. Will this one be extra White Horse?
- Nice mood shift about a minute in, all in all this is just too groovy to be true.
- That bassline is ace and the sound is excellent
- Wish the vocals were used more, although the way the track builds around keep on running may be my favorite thing about this one
- Nice mix with that overdrive synth and innocent strumming
- That “hey” part sounds an awfully lot like something Clap Your Hands Say Yeah would like
- Extend that to the whole chorus. Did I mention that it’s ridiculously catchy?
- Lovely when those extra synth layers kick in

Smart way of giving your opinion on tracks. It can get quite hectic with all the new stuff thats coming out all the tim to get it reviewed and posted. We might give this a go., see if it sticks
