The lovely disco vibes don’t hit my inbox as often as I wish they would. But when they do, my excitement goes beyond this world.
So I’m Jo is a two-man disco project from Sydney making some sweet disco. It is hard to say whether their sound is old or new, as they seem to draw inspiration from a lot of different artists. I was overwhelmed by the quality of the tracks, and while some of them don’t feel complete yet, the overall impression is indeed positive.
I’ve selected two very different tracks from their demo; one being an experimental instrumental piece, the other a very melodic disco ballad with a bit more funk. While I feel that the second one could easily be a hit, I find the edge of the first track much more interesting and worth pursuing further.
