Love Lockdown was easily my favourite track on 808s and Heartbreaks, and while that doesn’t say much, I still think this is a great track. I was never a fan of the remixes where the simple approach from Kanye was often bloated with anonymous drops and lousy production skills. To those who think that this is yet another one of those remixes, take it easy:
This is something completely different.
Let me start off by saying that the remixers here are good friends of mine, so you’ll have to forgive my hyperbole. That being said, this remix is exceptionally good. If you can forgive the sort of messed up delay in the beginning, this track quickly turns into a dark, thumping, and irresistible groove.
Pay special attention to the production skills here; I haven’t heard an unofficial remix that sounded this good since Dean Newton redefined Phantom Pt. II. Stop by So Am I’s myspace and give them the props they deserve.
