Transforming Passion Pit‘s Sleepyhead into a banger was never going to be a successful project. You know this one deserves to evolve slowly into a cascade of colors and fireworks once the post-chorus explosion goes off.
I was quick to pick this as one of my favorite tunes of 2008 and while I’ve been too much of a laggard to pick up Manners yet, the few tracks I’ve listened to definitely raised my expectations. So, until I decide to leave the couch (in a minute. It’s a promise!), here’s an excellent remix of Sleepyhead by Joel Jaggar.
This may not be perfectly in sync throughout and there may be some rough edges. On the other hand, that’s exactly what I love about the original. Listening to Jack Kerouacs looped vocals seems just as rewarding when the backdrop is chiming bells.
