Skream seriously needs to receive more praise from the mainstreamish blogosphere. He consistently creates remixes that blow my mind every single time, and yet he doesn’t fall into any of the usual formula traps we’ve seen so many great remixers being reduced to.
With the massive bass being the only certain thing in Skream’s remixes, you’re taken to two very different places with his latest work. Mujava’s Township Funk has been remix-dead for a long time. I even swore I wouldn’t post any more remixes. You knew I had to abandon that once Skream’s remix dropped.
Transforming the well-known hook into a schizophrenic and haunting echo, this remix is for the late nights, the shady clubs, and the smoke-filled rooms. If you’ve dismissed Township Funk remixes as mere cash cows before, now is the time to change your mind.

That Skream would remix Major Lazer wasn’t an obvious call. Yet, when you think about it, Mad Decent has been a clear first-mover among the American dubstep-seeking labels. Sharing suspicious Snoop Dogg dubstep tracks and signing Rusko are definitely good things in my book.
