Crookers are best when they strip out the gags and hiphop playfulness to create to the point electro tracks. Beep Beep Beep‘s vocals are largely thrown away and instead replaced by several layers of gritty synths resulting in the tightest Crookers production yet. While the techno hints are more prominent than ever, the tongue-in-cheek attitude is still present. I didn’t see this direction coming, but I’m sure glad to hear them strip things down.
