Sometimes it helps leaving out everything unnecessary. Just leaving the bare essentials sounds dangerous, but when done correctly it’s hauntingly effective. Zinc is a brilliant example. Although I’ve tried to get into his older stuff, his tendency towards tacky dubstep tunes didn’t catch me. Ok, that was fairly narrow-minded. My point is that his newer tracks are completely different and much harder hitting. Stripping everything but a simple drum pattern and a small set of synths, Zinc absolutely kills it with Blunt Edge.
Massive internet high five to Pelski for being consistently fantastic. Also, jump to Beatport for higher quality, more tracks, and pretty artwork.
