Yes, I just paired a track about an animal with a picture of a orangenana. Good times.

Everybody loves Tensnake. I raved about him last year, when he dropped In The End (I Want You To Cry) and Congolal. Now we’re only a few months into 2010, and Tensnake has already decided to let us drool over more of his deep disco goodness.

Coma Cat doesn’t have the same kind of instant amazement feeling that made the In The End release stand out as one of the best from last year. That doesn’t mean it’s a poor release, though. The vocal samples are less prominent and don’t steel the show completely, so you will not be chanting the same way you’ve done with Tensnake’s previous releases. Instead, you’ll be nodding slowly to the keyboard/marimba groove that once again showcase’s Tensnake’s knack for melodies.

After listening to Coma Cat I’m glad that Tensnake didn’t try to follow up on last year’s success with more of the same. Admittedly, this may not beat his past releases, but hearing him loosen up a bit and allow the groove to grow organically just feels right.
